SPY

SPY makes first-rate engineering available at a small price, which up to now could only provide simple system. This became possible with the use of standard parts and because of the compatibility of many modules of all our vehicles. The compact system can be transported in a car and is operated by 1-2 persons. This gives the possibility to operate SPY from a dinghy with a generator. The open frame construction allows even for untrained personnel to dismount or exchange modules of the ROV in a few minutes and to reach remotes regions only accessible by plane.

The modular construction allows for quick adaptation of a manipulator, Sonar, various cameras or extra strong thrusters directly on sea. A spare kit ensures the continuation of an ongoing operation without a longer interruption. With a special frame, SPY can be converted to a towed system like OBSERVER.

Two horizontal and two diagonal thrusters with 400 W power each guarantee strong propulsion and the possibility of much payload during salvage operations. The propellers of the vertical thrusters are mounted on the top side, avoiding to whirl up sediment near the bottom. Different speeds lead to exceptional maneuvrability and a precise positioning.

The standard camera is a 113" CCD color camera with a wide angle lens and a maximum sensibility of 2 lux. Up to 3 additional cameras can be mounted, transmitting their video image parallel or switchable. Several models including high sensitive bw-cameras can be chosen. Their video image can be observed on a TV screen with antenna input and recorded with a standard video recorder.

All video and control signals are frequency modulated and are transmitted in combination with the power supply via a special 9,8mm thin coaxial cable. Kevlar fibres guarantee a breaking strength of 300 kg, a PE coat allows for neutral balance in water. Due to the small cable diameter, the current drag stays small so that a speed of up to 2 kn can be reached. The use of susceptible multipolar cables can be avoided. The cable is mounted on a reel with electric collectors, allowing a perfect transmission of the video signal with no visible loss at the collectors without uncoiling the entire cable.

Every system can be further expanded and converted according to each customer's needs. Therefore, a variety of accessories like manipulators, Sonars, cameras, still cameras, rope cutters, auto depth controls up to extra strong thrusters with-high voltage transformation is available.
